                   WILLINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION MEETING
         4/16/2014 Meeting

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order @ 7:10 pm.

Roll Call: P. Andersen, C. Jordan, K. Pacholski,  R. Shabot,  

Approval of Minutes of 3/19/14: Minutes were approved unanimously

Seating of Alternates:  J. Cartabiano arr. 7:33, seated for K. Demers

Present to Speak:  None

Finance: No report.

OLD BUSINESS
A. Properties Management
FRP-DS: PA brushcut the small field on the Taylor Tr down to the pond and removed the FRP sign on Moose Meadow Rd for repairs (the sign was damaged a couple years ago apparently by crews clearing trees under power lines);   An EOSmith student will be clearing invasive plants around the Taylor home site as part of a senior project.
Boundary Marking Proposal : PA submitted a revised contract to NRC for boundary marking
New Taylor Pond Trail Guide: CJ will do final editing on new guide with formatting and printing to follow
Knowlton Preserve/Talmadge Tract: PA and RS will do a preliminary investigation for a possible parking area for Knowlton/Talmage trail access.  Full commission will do an inspection of recommendation(s).
Ridgeview LLC: PA will talk to Land Use Dept. re possible logging activity by the owner on or around Town-owned open space and conservation easement areas.  
B. Town Development: PZC; IWWC: Nothing new.  Proposed subdivision on Lustig/Tinkerville Rds:  PA will write to developer and engineer with a suggestion for the  configuration of required open space set-aside.  
C. Collaborative Organizations:
Willimantic River Alliance: No report.
Joshua’s Trust: No report
Windham County Conservation Consortium: No Report
D. Open Space Map Updating: CJ has been working with M.Cipriano at WINCOG to update Town open space map.  Project nearly complete.  New maps to follow.  
E. Levesque Farm:  PA will follow up with Northern Conn. Land Trust re recent conversations about preserving the farm land.  
G.  Other: NA.

NEW BUSINESS
A. Communications: PA received an inquiry and suggestion from a citizen re conserving the Levesque farm (see E. above)
B.  Other: None
